Toffee – Professional Dancer and Choreographer
Ikeela Sealey aka Toffee balances a career as a dance teacher and choreographer along with running a community interest company, Tru Streetdance as well as a full service dance agency, Sticky Toffee Ltd.
Toffee is an entrepreneurial and talented young lady with 10 years experience working within the dance and performing arts industry. Having set up Tru Streetdance at the tender age of 17 along with her late husband Tyrone Sealey.
Toffee is a qualified performing arts teacher and Arts Award Advisor. In 2007 Toffee won the Youth Dance England Choreographer of the year award acknowledging her talent and dedication to the performing art industry. Toffee has worked with numerous high profile brands throughout her career including Tony & Guy, the BBC, Channel 4 and the NHS.
One of the most pivotal moments in Toffee’s career was opening Sticky Dance Studio this year. Sticky Toffee Ltd offers a full timetable of dance classes as well as studio hire services.
Tru Streetdance CIC engages young people helping to provide the support; training and guidance they need to fulfill their individual potential as performing arts professionals along with becoming young entrepreneurs passing on what they have learnt to other young people.
Toffee’s aspiration is to establish a dance and performing arts academy within the next 5 years to help disseminate her brand of education and inspiration to young talented individuals helping to continue the legacy of Tru Streetdance. Toffee says ‘It’s not just about creating brilliant dancers – it’s about running a business and creating young entrepreneurs to continue my work.’
